Condition
A visual inspection of the aircraft shows no obvious signs of any damage or repairs. The logbooks are complete, original, well organized and legible. The logs make reference to a gear up landing in the early 1990s. The plane was professionally repaired at a Mooney service center at that time. There does not appear to be any other damage history.
Exterior
The overall condition of the exterior is poor. The finish is chalky and there are numerous areas of missing paint. There is a significant number of chips and scratches all over the aircraft.
Interior
The seats and carpet are in excellent condition. The side panels and all plastic components look good.
Message From the Owner
I've owned the plane since 2003 - originally purchased to use in my consulting practice. Unfortunately, my clients are either local or west coast, and I don't use the plane in the business. Although I fly the plane locally about twice a month, this is a cross-country machine anxious to stretch across state borders and new locales. I'd like to find an owner that will enjoy cross-country flying in a very efficient, safe and enjoyable plane.
This Mooney 201 is an awesome find. It has low total time and comes with a complete set of original logs. It is IFR equipped with a Garmin 430 and a King KFC-200 auto pilot. Although the exterior cosmetics are not great, the plane is solid in every other way with no expense spared mechanically. It has received recent upgrades that include O&N fuel bladders, a complete rebuild of the landing gear, a fresh propeller, an extensive avionics overhaul and the installation of a state of the art NGT900, making the plane 2020 compliant. If you are looking for a mechanically sound, operationally squawk free airplane, this one is for you. Throw a fresh paint job on it and that would be the last piece of the puzzle.
