A visual inspection of the aircraft shows no obvious signs of any damage or repairs. The logbooks are original, complete, well organized and legible. The aircraft has been ground-looped with minor wingtip damage on two occasions, once during current ownership. Repairs were professionally completed with proper documentation. See online logs for details.
The overall condition of the exterior is good. The finish is very shiny with a few minor chips and scratches as to be expected.
The seats, carpet, side panels and all plastic components are in good condition.
I acquired N773MC in 2015 for the expressed reason of owning a fun plane to fly. While I own a Cessna 210 to provide transportation for my family and business interests, I bought 773MC just to have fun flying a taildragger again. Early in my flying career, I flew ag planes that were all taildraggers used in the aerial application business. After flying fighters in the U.S. Air Force, becoming the first pilot to acquire 1000 hours in the F-15, and many more "first" accomplishments, I exited the Air Force and entered civilian life. But I could never give up the "flying bug." Initially, as a sideline to my career as an employee in an oil and gas company in Texas, I flew the company Cessna 206 and MU-2 (but neither as a company pilot--more as a backup when my services and convenience warranted). After a few years as an employee, I exited the company I worked for and became an independent oil and gas producer. The Cessna 210 I owned provided needed business travel, but I still had a yearning to fly a taildragger again. So, I bought 773MC. I've enjoyed over 120 hours in the Maule landing on grass and dirt strips all over West Texas and New Mexico, but I've used it the most commuting to a ranch property I own in north central Texas where I have cleared off a grass strip of about 700' which the Maule has no problem negotiating. The only reason that I would ever sell the plane is because I've lost my medical and can no longer fly. I've spent a great 57 years flying many different planes. I have to say that the Maule ranks close to the top as the most fun plane I've ever flown. If the new owner has half as much fun as I've had with the plane, they'll be very fortunate.
This 1986 Maule MX7-180 is a rare find! The airframe has low total time and comes with a complete set of original logs. The engine has low time since major overhaul and runs great. The plane is IFR equipped with a Garmin GNS480 and the paint and interior look nice. If you are looking for a super low time, well equipped tail dragger that can get in and out of tight spaces and is loads of fun, this is your chance. At this price, it will not be available for very long, so be sure to contact us right away!
