A visual inspection of the aircraft shows no obvious evidence of any airframe damage. The logbooks are original and complete. Prior to purchasing the aircraft, the owner was advised by an appraiser that during the build process, there was a minor problem with the landing gear. This issue was remedied and there have been no subsequent incidents.
The overall condition of the exterior is good. The paint does not shine and is chalky. There are a few scratches, a moderate amount of chips and there is some missing paint here and there.
The seats, carpet, side panels and plastic components are all in excellent condition.
This airplane is an absolute blast! 2 seats and not only is it fast and maneuverable, but I have made a half dozen cross country trips from Florida to California and back. The autopilot makes these long trips a breeze. The airplane is equipped for IFR, but I am not an IFR pilot, so I never bothered to have the IFR equipment certified. I now take a medication that precludes me from flying. I was hoping it would pass, but the time has come to let go of my toy. With summer coming, this plane should really be in the air, not parked next to a runway. This airplane is 7 months out of annual, as I have not been flying and had no way to get it to a mechanic for an annual. There is also a shock on the canopy that holds it up, which needs to be re-glassed, and the aileron trim switch needs to be replaced. For those unfamiliar with Lancair, they are a fast and fuel efficient experimental airplane. I would not be willing to sell this to anyone who will not make sure it is properly inspected & then get flight training from a Lancair pilot on the specifics of flight safety and performance. I would help transition you myself, but again, I can't fly anymore. Cross country in this plane is about 185 kts on 8.5 gallons @ about 8500/9500. You can go faster, but that last 15 kts ends up costing 4 gph, so it really isn't worth it. ~David
What a great opportunity to own a fast, efficient aircraft. This Lancair 360 is rare in that it is very well equipped for IFR flight. It has a Garmin 430 WAAS and a fantastic auto pilot that includes altitude hold, altitude pre-select and rate of climb. The airframe has low time and it comes with complete, original logs. The aircraft is being sold without annual so it will be the buyer's responsibility to obtain a ferry permit to fly to the location he chooses to have an annual inspection completed. There are no known mechanical reasons that the aircraft cannot be ferried. A little sweat equity provided can result in getting this awesome plane for a great value. Be sure to contact us right away as it will not be available for very long!
