A visual inspection of the aircraft shows now obvious sign of any airframe damage or repairs. According to the owner, the aircraft was involved in an accident back in 1979. According to the NTSB, the aircraft was being operated locally near Somerset, KY when there was an engine failure and a subsequent forced landing at the airport. There were no injuries, however the plane had damage to the wings, fuselage and firewall as well as the propeller. The aircraft was professionally rebuilt with proper documentation and returned to service in 1982. There were repairs to the firewall and fuselage. The wings were replaced, the windshield was replaced and the aircraft was stripped and painted at that time. No other damage history has occured since this event. The logbooks are original, complete, well organized, legible and do reflect the repairs conducted as a result of the 1979 event. See online logs for details.
The overall condition of the exterior is good. The paint has a moderate shine with some minor chips and a few scratches here and there as to be expected.
The seats, side panels and plastic components are all in fair condition. The carpet looks good.
Fast and fun plane to fly. So stable you barely need auto-pilot. Brand new McCauley 3-bladed prop and only 120hrs since I overhauled the engine at Corona Aircraft Engines with Millennium Cylinders. I've had it almost 10 years, used it to get my IFR, and unfortunately for reasons both medical and personal it's time to sell. This plane loves to fly and it's a shame that I can't take it up anymore. A great cross country plane that's perfect for getting where you wanna go quickly. We've taken it up to Ashland OR from KVNY in 3 1/2 hours, plenty of trips to Oakland and San Diego, as well as small and large fields all over California. Mechanically this plane is in outstanding shape, and while it may not be the prettiest aircraft on the ramp, the paint and interior are just fine. I had it hangered for about half the time I've had it, and myself and the previous owner have kept in in Van Nuys, where the weather is dry and mild.
This Comanche is a fantastic value! It has very low hours on the engine overhaul, which was conducted by Corona Aircraft Engines, and comes with Millennium Cylinders. It is IFR equipped, complete with GPS, moving map and a nice auto pilot that has altitude hold and pre-select. It comes with a complete set of comprehensive, original logs that show a good maintenance history. The paint and interior look good and the plane is being sold with a fresh annual and AD compliance. At this price, it will not last long, so be sure to contact us right away!
